The Grampians, geologically, a uniquely formed mountain range. Ecologically, one of the most diverse National Parks in Australia. Culturally, home to tens of thousands of years of human history. All of this in a destination that offers some of the best opportunities for outdoor activities and adventure sports.

Based right in the heart of the Grampians, Absolute Outdoors is the key to connecting people with place and unlocking the true Grampians experience. As an experiential tour operator, our goal is to share our home with you in a safe, engaging and informative way: leaving you with a deeper understanding of yourself and your destination.

Our experiences range from gentle, easy going outdoor activities with breathtaking views, to hair-raising adventure activities for all ages and abilities. We offer canoeing, rock climbing and abseiling, as well as a range of uniquely crafted experiences in half, full or multi-day packages.

Our Story

35+ Years in Gariwerd

Absolute Outdoors was founded in 1989 with a simple idea: share the extraordinary landscape of the Grampians with as many people as possible. From those early abseiling sessions, we've grown to offer a comprehensive range of adventures, courses, and expeditions.

We operate from Halls Gap, the gateway to Gariwerd: and our team of qualified guides and instructors are passionate about this landscape. Many have worked with us for over a decade.

In recent years, we've launched the After Hours Series, expanded our alpine program, and established our sister brand Grampians Peaks Walking Co. to manage guided walks on the 164km Grampians Peaks Trail.
