Maribyrnong River Social Paddle

Join us for a fun social paddle on the Maribyrnong river heading down stream from the Footscray Rowing Club towards the Westgate Tunnel bridge.

📅 When: Saturday 9 May 2026 Arrive at 8.00am to set up your board. Safety briefing at 8.30am and then on the water shortly after. Finish approx. 11.30am

Estimate distance is approx. 7km

📍 Meeting - Footscray City Rowing Club. Parking - Lots of parking close to the water.

Paddle details: Launching from Footscray City Rowing Club, we’ll head downstream towards the Westgate Tunnel Bridge, passing Flemington Race Course, Footscray Park, stunning city skyline, the Heavenly Queen Temple, ever changing Footscray skyline & industrial areas.

We’ll then head back to the starting point.

You can finish here or join us for a coffee at Edgewater. This is a short paddle upstream from the launch point.

Skill level: This is a really fun, casual paddle that will suit all level of SUP’ers. Newbies & beginners are most welcome.

Safety: You must have a leg rope for this social paddle. Life jackets are optional, but always a good idea. Kids 11 years and under MUST have a life jacket on at all times.

This is a free paddle and is open to everyone.
