Big Freeze Beanie Paddle

In recognition of the sad passing of Neale Daniher last week, we invite everyone to join Sup Melbourne for a special paddle in support of the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Neale’s courage, determination and tireless advocacy touched the hearts of so many of us, and he became a household name.

To honour his legacy and raise awareness for MND, we are ASKING ALL OUR PADDLERS TO PURCHASE & WEAR A BIG FREEZE BEANIE TO THIS PADDLE.

Beanies can be purchased from Coles Supermarkets, Bunnings & some Shell Ready Express Stores.

Paddle details

📍 Location: Meet at dog park at Point Park, 104 Lorimer Street, Docklands

⏱️ Time

• 8am arrival to set up
• 8.20am safety briefing on the grass at the dog park
• 8.30am launch
• Return approx 11.30am

About this paddle This is a 8km paddle at a social pace starting from Point park paddling along the Yarra to Swan street bridge & return. A Coffee stop is always in the plan - either during the paddle or at the end.

IMPORTANT INFO

• Leg ropes are mandatory
• Children 11yo & under must have a life jacket
• All paddlers are to wear a big freeze beanie (or big freeze hat)
• It is a great idea to have a change of clothes in the unlikely event you have a fall in the Yarra.
• This paddle is not suitable for first timers.
• Sorry, no pets

Parking Parking can be limited - please be aware of parking restrictions & be aware parking inspectors are active in the area. Parking is also available in some of the side streets, so you can drop your board then find a park. Car pooling is always a great idea
