Stirling Night – 2 Day Winter Hike

If you’d like to experience an epic winter outdoor adventure, this might just be the right tour for you.

This fully guided tour is a great introduction to snowshoeing and snow camping.

You will enjoy two days snowshoeing around the beautiful Mt Stirling with one night camping at Bluff Spur Memorial Hut. The hut provides a good shelter and warmth to cook in and socialise in.

Along the way, you will hike through magnificent Alpine Ash forest and into the high alpine areas covered in Snow Gums. You will explore high country huts and enjoy breathtaking views, if weather permits.

This adventure is physically and mentally demanding, therefore requires good level of fitness and mental strength. You will be required to wear snowshoes and carry an overnight backpack. The backpack will weigh between 21 to 25kg. You will also need warm, waterproof winter clothing.

Tour includes

• Two days of guided snowshoe hiking with an experienced guide
• Transfers between Merrijig and the hiking track
• All hiking and camping equipment – tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, pillow, sit mat, walking poles, gaiters, snowshoes, overnight backpack, cooking stove including fuel, pots, bowls, cups and utensils, head torch, sleeping bag liner
• One night accommodation in a two man tent (twin share)
• Meals
• Mt Stirling Resort entry fees

Children 15 years and older should be able to complete this tour, but they will be required to carry a fully loaded pack. For families with children, we distribute the pack weight so that children carry a little less, but parents need to pick up the balance.
