This walk is around 90 km, through rolling Galician countryside, quiet forests, tiny villages and, eventually, spectacular coastal scenery.
Unlike the Camino that leads to Santiago, this route feels like a journey of reflection. With each day, the busy streets of Santiago fade further behind you and the landscape becomes quieter and more remote. One of the most memorable moments comes when you catch your first glimpse of the Atlantic, knowing that the “end of the world” is getting close.
The final walk into Fisterra, along the beautiful Langosteira Beach, is particularly special. From the town, many pilgrims continue the last few kilometres to Cape Finisterre and its lighthouse, where the Camino ends high above the Atlantic.
Standing there watching the ocean stretch endlessly towards the horizon gives you time to reflect—not just on the kilometres you’ve walked, but on the experiences, friendships and memories collected along the way. Santiago may mark the end of one Camino, but Finisterre feels like the place where you finally stop, look back, and let the journey sink in.
