Immersing oneself in nature is at the centre of all of Alpine Nature Experience’s offerings. Tackle the iconic Falls to Hotham crossing without the need to carry large packs or a tent – ANE does all of that for you and with a unique twist: the tents are hoisted between trees! To complete the experience all meals are chef prepared with your own personal cook at camp and wine to match. Finish your mountain experience on a high staying in one of their luxurious Hypedome with breathtaking views at Alpine Nature Experience’s eco-village.
Alpine Nature Experience’s all-inclusive two to three days self-guided (or with an experienced guide) curated hike from Falls Creek to Mount Hotham is designed to maximise comfort while still being an active weekend getaway.
This iconic hike has been designed with exclusivity in mind. Very limited weekends are available and group numbers are capped at 8 people to ensure a personalised and unforgettable experience. Head to the booking page to see available dates.
Add-on options are available for a fully- catered experience, such as return transport from Melbourne, or an accompanying local walking guide.
Fitness level We can tailor your itinerary to fit your fitness level from 12-23km/day.
Whether you opted for self-guided or guided hike, we can adapt the route to your fitness level. Regardless, a reasonable walking fitness level is essential to ensure that you enjoy the hike. You need to be prepared to walk for several hours for two days in a row on uneven terrain.
The Falls to Hotham crossing is often referred to as a GRADE 3-4 – MODERATE TO CHALLENGING Walk.
Distances are longer, up to 20km. Steep hill sections and rough surfaces. Walking experience and an active lifestyle are necessary prerequisites.

We can tailor the hike to your requirements and offer a range of options to suit your needs. For example, if you only want to do the hike and the night as Blair’s hut but skip the accommodation at Falls or Hotham.

Facilities: Our camp in the Alpine National Park is set up to be unique with one motto: Simplicity is a luxury.
There you will get to experience nature from above, levitating off the ground while watching the stars with your partner or a friend in our unique Tree Top Tent.
Most food is cooked on the fires with a focus on local, fresh produce.
We also have limited power to recharge your phone, a camp shower, and a selection of soft drinks, local beers, wines and spirits.
